Migration
Monarchs travel farther than any known insect in the world to complete their yearly migration cycle. Migration is when an animal moves from one habitat to another with the change of weather and seasons. They migrate to find warmer weather, better food supplies, or a safe place to give birth to their young.
Migration Activity
- View the video and take notes on the Monarch butterfly migration.
- Look at the 2 websites listed in the "Resources" section below. Take notes on the incredible journey of the Monarch butterfly from Mexico to Canada and back again.
- Look at the pictures in the photo gallery below.
- In your group, place the pictures in order by clicking on the photo, downloading the photo and placing the images in a PowerPoint.
- After you put the photos in order, click on "Insert" - "Audio" - "Record Audio" and explain the journey by recording your voice.
